Civic Tech Day

Where civic tech meets city hall. The day opens with civic tech founders and government leaders talking about how technology is changing government, and what’s still in the way. Then small-group unconference sessions on the themes you pick, a mini hackathon on open data and problems straight from the speakers, and food, drinks, and conversation to close it out. Come for one part or stay for all of it.

A cross-partisan week of events, alongside Tech Week

We’re a cross-partisan group inviting people and organizations from across the political spectrum to connect, celebrate, discuss in good faith, and take action to build the American democratic republic we all want to live in.

A week of events, hosted by whoever wants to host them, running alongside Tech Week. We’re organizing it this way on purpose, to open up more conversations about the links between tech, AI, venture capital, democracy, and the kind of future we’re building. Not every Democracy Week event needs to be tech related. The ones that are, we encourage to cross-post on the Tech Week calendar.

There’s no single ticket and no main stage

Democracy Week is decentralized. People and organizations bring their own events, in whatever format works for them, and we help you reach new audiences, collaborate with other organizers, and boost our collective impact.

We think democracy efforts should be both serious, and seriously fun, so we especially encourage events that intertwine music, arts, food, good times, and civic action. Anyone want to pull together a constitutional comedy night? Civic improv? A cross-partisan paddle tournament? We’d love to support.

We’re building on the energy from festivals, the AI & Democracy Unconference, InterdepenDance Day, GoodGov LA unconference, the cross-partisan bridging movement, civic jams, and more, to help build this movement and groovement! Join us!
